Increase Revenue by Flagging Low-Paying Publishers as Competitors

by Staff Writer

The algorithm that powers Google AdSense and decides which publisher gets to display advertisements from which advertiser was always something that baffled and annoyed new publishers. Many publishers were frustrated with the low cost-per-click (CPC) they received from Google AdSense, a curse bought down by the advertisers paying for 5 cent clicks.

Nevertheless, Google has tried to be fair to it's publishers who hate to see advertisements which promote their competitor's websites and has offered a tool to ban competitor domain names from appearing on your website. One website has decided to create an online community which creates a list of low-paying websites and offers this list for their registered members - AdsBlackList.com.

The idea is simple and easy to understand:

  1. Find the low paying websites (usually the AdSense ready-made websites) using their list
  2. Mark it as a competitor
  3. Repeat this process until you use up your limit or are satisfied with the Cost-Per-Click (CPC)
**You are only allowed to filter out 200 competitor URL's

Now a good amount of people would ask the obvious question, "Isn't this gaming AdSense? Could I be banned for this?". Well I took a quick glance at their FAQ and it claims:

NO. It's your legal right to be able to edit your Competitive Ad Filter, re-edit it and do it all over again. By carefully reading Google AdSense policy and terms of use, we've found no rule or policy which is against using this type of site/service.

Even better, people have been using this method for well over four months and there has been no report on forums of user's AdSense account being suspended.
