Sphinn.com SEM social book marking site
by ogletreeDanny Sullivan has launched a new social book marking site in response to the fact that digg.com seems to hate SEM websites. www.searchengineland.com has always provided a daily list of good articles. This new sites will allow the SEM community to find good information without having to trudge through hundreds of news feeds.
The site functions almost exactly like digg.com so it is an easy transition if you are already used to digg.com. The one major difference is that it ads the ability to submit content directly on that site. Kind of like a forum. The sign up process is very simple. They only ask for username, email, and password. Once you sign up you can start voting and submitting websites. Instead of friends sphinn calls them stalkers. It works just like digg.com.
If you want to set up your profile it has a lot of different information you can input. It has a section where you can list your other profiles on other websites. It also lets you enter your personal, and professional blogs as well as one more random blog. It will pull those blogs feeds and show the first 3 posts on those blogs. It also lets you list your different IM account names as well as one IRC section. When you visit somebody’s profile it shows the last logged on people that visited.
The site works very well considering it is brand new. There are many features that people are asking for that would make it better like adding html to comments. There is a thread where Danny lists known bugs that they are working on. I really like the site and think that it is something that will keep me informed of SEM related stuff.
